A 20 year dream comes true

In the Spring of 2001, a divine call to service unto humanity was realized as I left the comforts of adolescence and was promoted by graduation to adulthood. Here is where my heart found joy and my eyes saw the mission proposed for life. The vision of The Village Family Empowerment Center was breathed into my spirit and 11 years later would be introduced to individuals who now serve as advisors, supporters, and community partners in the manifestation of this vision.

In the Fall of 2021, with only a dream in hand, VFEC took an official form and was placed on the world’s stage. A non-profit family preservation and community empowerment agency received the breath of life.

VFEC that builds upon the mantra: Know, Grow, & Win!

And with a mission founded upon “dide lati dide”

which in the Yoruba language translates as: RISE TO RAISE.

With a courageous voice and a compassionate touch,
The Village rises.

This sentiment is not simply a statement of suggestion, but a formal call to action for all. A call to the entire family unit or to  one family member at a time. This call invites the community or The Village to RISE up with the intent to RAISE up another human being.  With a courageous voice and a compassionate touch, The Village rises.

It’s not each one, teach one.  It’s each one is ONE.  Seeing ourselves as knowledgeable, capable, willfully aligned parts of a whole, healthy community that seeks to raise one another up guarantees the growth of the whole from creation to foundation.
